Which industries (sectors/sub-sectors) are the most exciting to you, and why?
I’ve always enjoyed covering multiple sectors concurrently, but financial services has been a core focus for me. It encompasses a very broad array of different business models and is an area of constant creative destruction. New strategies and emerging business models are continually challenging legacy incumbents, creating compelling opportunities for value creation.
I’ve also pursued many different themes and sub-sectors opportunistically, which helps keep a broader perspective on the relative attractiveness of investment opportunities at different points in time.
How have you seen Advent’s culture of collaboration drive impact both internally and at portfolio companies?
Collaboration is the backbone of our success at Advent. We share sector knowledge, industry themes, and relationships across regions and investment programs, which often leads to new ideas and sharper investment theses.

What has been a highlight of your Advent career?
I operate with the belief that the best highlight is still out ahead of us. That mindset keeps the bar high.
That said, building Advent Global Opportunities (AGO) from a kernel of an idea, to a successful public platform has been fantastic to be a part of. I’ve also been proud to be part of differentiated investments that brought together teams from across Advent . Those experiences reinforced how powerful our platform can be when we operate as one global team.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Nowadays, my kids! But if it were not for them, it would be my fundamental curiosity to understand how things are today and what they might become in the future. I love investing because it offers the daily opportunity to hunt for the next compelling theme or idea.
