We recognize that our success as a private equity investor hinges on the smooth functioning of wider society. Our funds’ portfolio companies employ thousands of people and benefit from healthy communities. As a firm, we contribute to these societies through our global charitable initiatives, and by encouraging our people to make a personal difference by contributing time and resources to benefit non-profit organizations, charities and other philanthropic initiatives.

The invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation continues to cause untold suffering in Ukraine and across the neighbouring region right now. We are committed to harnessing the collective power of our network and our portfolio companies to help alleviate the terrible human consequences of this aggression.
MOBILIZING THE ADVENT
COMMUNITY TO FIGHT COVID-19
At the outbreak of the pandemic, we took immediate action to help mitigate the impact of Covid-19 on our employees, portfolio companies and the communities in which we operate. We quickly raised the Advent Global Relief Fund (AGRF), a central war-chest that allows us to efficiently channel resources to local organisations that are leading the fight against Covid-19. Across the Advent Community, we worked alongside portfolio companies and charities to provide help where it was needed most.

We collaborate as one firm to support organizations and charities that help build stronger, more sustainable communities, primarily in the fields of healthcare and education.
For nearly a decade, Advent International has proudly sponsored Partners In Health (PIH), an international medical organization that helps build and sustain public health systems in poor and underserved communities around the world. Launched in 1987, PIH now reaches more than eight million people in some of the world’s most deprived areas.
Teambuilding and fundraising
Reach the Beach
Since 2011, our primary fundraising initiative for PIH has been the “Reach the Beach” endurance event. Held every two years, it’s a gruelling 200-mile non-stop overnight relay race from the White Mountains to the seacoast of New Hampshire. In 2017, we entered 11 mixed teams drawn from Advent and PIH, with each runner covering more than 16 miles in aid of a very worthy cause. Months of preparation and fundraising culminated in 140 runners, drivers and volunteers from across Advent’s global offices completing the event.
In April 2019, we developed a similarly gruelling test in Europe. The ADVENTure challenge is a 48-hour endurance race comprising running, kayaking and cycling along the River Thames outside London. In the inaugural race, more than 50% of Advent’s total global team formed teams to compete alongside other friends of the firm.

When considering new philanthropic pathways, Advent found a natural fit in the work of Partners In Health (PIH), whose story resonated with our own values. In PIH’s journey, we recognized an organization that, like Advent, has a global reach rooted in individuals’ dedication to serving their local communities. And, like Advent, PIH thrives on collaboration and shared responsibility.

At ground level, we support our local offices and employees’ passion for the causes that matter to them, encouraging their own social initiatives such as fundraising, voluntary work, mentoring, external appointments and memberships. As well as helping local communities, these play a vital role in team cohesion, making our employees more engaged and aware of issues in society around them.

Helps to close gaps in high-need schools by supporting students’ academic and socialemotional development.
We sponsor City Year’s Condon School AmeriCorps team in South Boston and support the organization’s annual fundraising gala. We also participate in an annual service day, organize a back-to-school supply drive and serve as mentors to the AmeriCorps members as they prepare for their next teaching jobs following their one year of service with City Year.
To identify and support entrepreneurs with high potential for economic and social impact.
We sponsored the annual gala. Advent employees also mentor entrepreneurs and connect them with Advent portfolio companies.
To support children from underprivileged households by providing regular healthy meals and educational support.
We sponsored a day of activities for children in a youth camp to foster a sense of community.
To provide cancer care for economically disadvantaged children.
We donated items and spent a day engaging in fun activities with children who have cancer.
