Advent International has been active in Asia since 1984 through an affiliate and in September 2012 established a fully staffed local office in Shanghai followed by an office in Hong Kong in September 2016. Our team of primarily Chinese nationals has extensive investment experience in Greater China across Advent’s core sectors.
We focus on investments in leading companies in Greater China and neighboring countries in sectors such as chemicals, healthcare, consumer and retail. Our most recent investment is The Learning Lab, a leading provider of K-12 academic enrichment and tutorial services in Singapore.
Additionally, we work with Advent’s deal teams worldwide on international investments with Greater China expansion opportunities. We also support the firm’s existing global portfolio companies with growth strategies in China. Recent examples include Allnex (Belgium), The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (US), Corialis (Belgium), Maxam (Spain), Mediq (Netherlands) and IFS (formerly P2 Energy Solutions) (US).
