Wataru Kobayashi joined Advent in 2026 and is a Vice President in Tokyo. He advises on investments in the healthcare and consumer sectors. Wataru has advised on two investments during his career in these sectors.
Prior to joining Advent, Wataru worked at The Carlyle Group on the private equity team in Tokyo, where he was responsible for healthcare and consumer investments. Earlier in his career, Wataru worked at Bain & Company, where he served corporate and private equity clients across sectors. Prior to Bain & Company, Wataru worked at L’Oréal as a financial controller.
Wataru received a BS from the University of Tokyo and an MBA from INSEAD.
