How has working with Operating Partners and Industry Advisors helped to improve your work at Advent?
Our Operating Partners / Advisors bring decades of industry experience and provide true value-add to our management teams supporting them to build great businesses.
Since you began your career, what has changed the most about the industry?
In the last decade before COVID, a lot of private equity firms were able to ride the tailwinds from low interest rates, ample leverage, and rising exit multiples. In more challenging times, you notice which investors stand out by leaning in on their sector expertise and adding value through making operational and strategic changes. Advent has followed that approach from the beginning.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
It’s perhaps a bit of a cliché, but what really excites me is to work with management teams and support them to build leading companies. That’s the fun part: we have a collaborative and consensus-oriented partnership approach enabling teams to work on transformations, mergers and acquisitions or the next strategic move.
