Building Best-In-Class Leadership
Our success stems from our diverse pool of talent programs – we continuously attract and retain top performers into Advent International and our portfolio companies through first-class recruiting, training, performance and mentorship programs. We strive to hire the best and brightest out of industry, undergraduate universities and business schools into programs that promote accelerated learning with the ultimate goal of developing high potential individuals at the C- suite and senior levels of Advent. We have pioneered several initiatives that provide junior talent opportunities to develop and progress their careers in an inclusive and diverse environment, both with Advent and in our portfolio companies.
Developing Talent

We believe that the best way to meet the needs of our future business is to invest in our people today
Since 2003, we have created a bespoke range of development programs that equip our employees with the skills and experience to become the leaders of tomorrow. Ongoing regional training works alongside our robust global training program to create interchangeable investment teams with the same fundamental approach to transaction and portfolio company work. Our regional and global mentorship programs provide support throughout an employee’s career and strengthens our success.

“Over the four years I worked at Advent I met great people from many different parts of the world and the various networking and team building events created an amazing working environment and the ability to build a solid professional network. In addition to the substantial private equity industry knowledge that I acquired and the businesses in which I had the chance to analyze and invest, I now have the opportunity, as part of my MBA summer internship, to work for an Advent portfolio company in Argentina. This experience will further contribute to the development of my operational capabilities.”

Promoting A Diverse And Inclusive Culture

Advent is an active participant and supporter of organizations that promote the development of women and underrepresented groups
Advent’s guiding principle is to provide equality of opportunity across our firm and our portfolio companies. We are actively engaged in several initiatives to support our female employees through recruiting, mentorship and professional development.
We seek out opportunities to engage and educate the local communities about Advent and the private equity industry.
Latin America Women’s Inclusion Network
Women Industry Leaders, Speaker Series
External industry leaders and experts are invited to speak to Advent employees and guests about topics impacting women in the financial sector. These events inform our female employees on a range of subjects and enable them to make connections across the region.
“We host multiple events throughout the year where diverse industry leaders are invited to share their experiences. On these sessions we touch on different subjects, ranging from the leader area of expertise to diversity related issues. The stories we hear in these events are not only very inspiring, but also a great way to foster discussion on important issues around DEI on our team.”

Women’s Mentoring Program
In addition to their internal mentor, female investment professionals are matched with an external woman mentor to guide them in their career development.
Women In Private Equity Events
Women enrolled in local universities are invited to hear private equity investment professionals speak about what private equity is, why diversity is important and how Advent International is committed to the development of women in their careers.
Diversity, EQUITY & Inclusion Committee
Our Latin America Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee coordinates our education and outreach initiatives, helping undergraduates and young people starting their careers to better understand our business and private equity more generally.
The committee organizes annual networking events at each of our offices where young women come to socialize, meet Advent team members and learn more about our industry. Separately, a member of our investment team teaches a course to train young students for success in a career in private equity.

“Students are prepared for a private equity career in a very tangible, hands-on way. Throughout the course, participants learn about in-depth financial reporting and analysis, modelling, private equity transaction structures, value creation levers along with other tools that are fundamental to become a strong private equity associate. In addition, they are exposed to different members of the private equity community, including CEOs, lawyers, advisors, amongst others. So far, the results have been outstanding, with students (a large number of which were female participants) at the end of the course being accepted to top tier funds.”
Alfredo Sandes
Vice President, Brazil
