Advent International opens office in Turkey

13 July 2010, Istanbul/London – Advent International, the global private equity firm, announced that it has opened a liaison office in Turkey.  The office, located in Istanbul, is Advent’s eighteenth worldwide and is led by Dan Morgan, Director.  The opening of the Istanbul office demonstrates Advent’s commitment to the Turkish market and desire to continue to develop a strong local presence.  

Advent has been active in the Turkish market since 2001.  The firm has successfully partnered with companies seeking to improve their operations, strengthen their competitiveness and grow their businesses locally and internationally.  Its investments in Turkey include Unmas (Uno), Turkey's leading producer of high-quality branded packaged bread and bakery products and Roma Plastik, a leading global manufacturer of edge bands for furniture.

Dan Morgan, Head of Advent Turkey, has over thirteen years of private equity experience.  Prior to joining Advent, he spent two years in Kaupthing Bank's Principal Investment team and nine years with 3i. In Istanbul, Dan will work with Kayril Karabeyoglu. Kayril joined Advent from Standard Unlu Private Equity and previously spent two years working with Garanti Bank’s project and acquisition finance team in Istanbul.  Prior to that, he was based in New York for three years, working with Standard and Poors.
With a global network of eighteen offices, more than 150 investment professionals worldwide and 70 experienced operating partners, Advent has a strong track record of partnering with its portfolio companies and helping them grow.  As an investor Advent is focused on introducing operational improvements into the companies it works with.  In the past five years alone, the firm has raised €15.5 billion in funds and backed over 60 companies globally, applying the same principles that have been the hallmark of its highly successful investment strategy for the past 25 years.
