March 10, 2011 - Kyiv, Ukraine – Advent International, the global private equity firm, today announced that it has acquired a controlling stake in ISIDA, one of Ukraine’s cutting edge medical treatment and healthcare providers. The value of the transaction and other financial terms were not disclosed.
Advent’s investment will provide ISIDA with the expertise and financial resources required to expand its network and healthcare service offering to clients in other regions of Ukraine. Founded 18 years ago and based in Ukraine’s capital city Kyiv, ISIDA is unique in providing world class gynecological, maternity and pediatric care services as well as the latest infertility treatment options and genetic research all under one roof.
Tamas Nagy, Managing Director, Advent International, said: “Ukraine is a key emerging market in Central and Eastern Europe that has strong demand for high quality healthcare services. The investment in ISIDA is our first in Ukraine and one that holds great promise. Among ISIDA’s many competitive advantages, three attracted us to the clinic: firstly, its unique combination of high quality medical services under one roof – a rarity in Europe that attracts clients from around the globe; secondly, a very patient-oriented culture; and thirdly, the opportunity for growth based on market demand for quality care and medical excellence.”
Viktor Kozin, ISIDA main shareholder and CEO, said: “The ISIDA brand is recognised for its excellence, innovation and quality. With the backing of Advent International, ISIDA will now be able to expand its medical treatment and healthcare services to clients residing beyond Kyiv in Ukraine’s regions. Building these new facilities with state of the art equipment and trained doctors and nurses requires investment capital, know-how and a brand that is trusted and recognised. Together with Advent, ISIDA will create jobs and continue to pioneer quality healthcare and medical excellence in Ukraine for years to come.”
