Roma Plastik is one of the world's top 5 manufacturers of furniture edge bands.
In 1996 Roma began manufacturing edge bands– strips of processed plastic or paper applied to the edges of furniture – an essential component in many pieces of everyday furniture. Their particular strength was in the design, quality and colour match which are critical to the overall quality and value of the finished product.
Advent and Turkven acquired a controlling stake in the business in October 2006. Under their ownership, Roma Plastik consolidated its position as a market leader, both in the domestic Turkish market and internationally, opened a new office in Germany and established relationships with distributors in foreign markets such as Spain and the UK.
Continuous product development and investments positioned the company as one of the largest manufacturers in the industry supported by high-quality service, fast delivery and competitive pricing. Roma also became one of only a few European players with the technology to produce both paper (melamine) and plastic (PVC) edging, adding to its competitive advantage.
In 2010, the Tyrolean-based EGGER Holzwerkstoffe GmbH, a leading European wood panel manufacturer acquired Roma Plastik.
